RUSSIAN SPECIAL
FORCES ANTI-TERROR
AND BODYGUARD TRAINING. MOSCOW, RUSSIA
20-28 SEPTEMBER 2002
PROGRAM.
The VITYAZ Special Forces (Spetsnaz) Division, through its
founder and commander, Col. Sergei I. Lisiuck, has authorized
a group of foreigners to undergo the actual VIP protection
and anti-terror training of this most elite unit within the
Russian Special Forces, the vaunted Red Berets.
Up to ten hours of training per day will
be provided at the secure training bases of VITYAZ, including
its new Anti-Terror Training facility, the Balashikha training
base and obstacle course, airborne training facility and others,
all located outside Moscow. Accommodations will be either
new military barracks or hotel type facilities for traveling
officers. The course will include individual and team close
protection skills, psychology of assailants and terrorists,
firearms techniques, hostage rescue, hand-to-hand combat,
and intelligence gathering. The group will have the opportunity
to develop skills on the obstacle course, armored personnel
carrier operation, knife and shovel fighting, and weapons
disarming. Each group member will receive a Spetsnaz uniform
required for use on all bases. No videotaping will be permitted,
and only those photographs authorized by the assigned Russian
cadre may be taken.
In addition to receiving a certificate for
graduating this program, group members will be trained in
scuba techniques and underwater hand-to-hand combat, an operational
specialty of Vityaz, which traces its roots to the Russian
Navy Commandos. To participate in the dive training portion,
each person must hold the minimum basic open water scuba certification
with a recognized scuba association. Parachute training will
also be offered. Individuals may decline to participate in
the dive and jump portions of the program, and, if they have
completed all other course requirements, will still be eligible
to receive a graduation certificate.
In addition to the training, tours of Moscow
and free time in the city will be available. Except for those
making their own travel arrangements, all participants will
depart JFK on 20 September, and return on Saturday 28 September
2002. The trip cost will include airfare from JFK to Moscow
and return, outstanding and diverse training, and base accommodations.
Meals will be provided at the training sites, or bag lunches
prepared for those times when the group will be away from
the base dining hall. The cost does not include meals or other
expenses incurred outside the base.
REGISTRATION.
Each group applicant will be responsible for obtaining a valid
passport prior to final payment. Visas will be obtained by
the trip organizers; however each member must pay for his
own visa application fee and photos. Applicants should contact
the trip managers at the address, phone number or email address
listed at the top of this announcement. Total cost of the
trip has not been finalized at this time; however, it will
not exceed US$3,400.00. The trip sponsors are working to make
this trip as inexpensive as possible.
The Russian military has limited the number
of participants. Unlike prior training trips, this program
is the actual training received by elite members of the Russian
special forces, not mere exhibitions. Those interested should
complete the form at the bottom of this page and send it to
the provided address, along with a deposit check in the full
amount US$1,400.00 to Systema Group, Inc. Each trainee must
be approved by VITYAZ and be issued a visa by the Russian
government. The deposit is non-refundable, unless
an applicant has been rejected for a visa (should such occur
it is unlikely any reason would be given), or unless the trip
is canceled. Applications and deposit checks must be received
no later than 15 July 2002. Final payment, and submission
of visa applications and visa application checks must be received
no later than 15 August 2002. Applicants will be accepted
on a first-paid-first-reserved basis. If the full group compliment
has been met prior to 15 July 2002, no other applications
will be accepted. All checks should be made payable to
Systema Group, Inc.
Once your deposit has been received, a complete
application packet will be mailed to you. This will include
a trip itinerary, safety tips while traveling in Russia, packing
suggestions, liability waiver and release, a list of basic
Russian words and phrases, medical/emergency information form,
Russian visa application and instructions for completion,
detailed trip application, itinerary, and trip information.
